See the pictures below to see the process of construction on our brand new 40' Rock Climbing Tower.

Since the late 80s rock climbing has been a key activity for Medeba. We were one of the first in Canada to build a realistic outdoor climbing structure but, after over a decade of use, a new one had to be constructed. The new climbing tower is in the same location as the old one.

Here Bettina, Molly, Jeremy and Michael lay out the 50 foot poles for the new climbing wall.

The poles are now being installed.

The first wall is being constructed using a special boom to lift up the pieces of plywood.

The boom makes it easier to install the different sections.

The overhang is now being installed on the north side.

The wall is now ready for use.

Two climbers are able to climb on each face of the wall. This maximizes the amount of times people can climb during an activity.

When it comes right down to it the reason why Medeba exists is for the campers. It is so fulfilling to see them come down from a climb with a big smile on their face.
