Friday May 5, 2006

Stage 3 of the Hub has begun! Andrew and Ken are excavating
for the addition on the back of the Hub. Stage 3 includes
washrooms and storage space for the Hub. The total washroom addition is approximately 24' x 20' or the same size as a cabin.

Wednesday May 10, 2006

The footings for Stage 3 were poured yesterday and
Shawn and Mark are now taking apart the forms

Friday May 12, 2006

Blocks were begun to be laid yesterday. Since rain was
in the forecast we placed two large tarps over
the entire area to keep things dry.

Ken lays another block while Scott holds the tape to
allow Andrew to shoot a level.

Tuesday May 16, 2006

The blocks for the basement continue to be laid.
It will serve as a utility room and a storage room.

Wednesday May 17, 2006

Two large tarps are laid over the entire foundation to
keep out the rain while the blocks are being laid.

Thursday May 18, 2006

The tarps are coming in very handy as it continues to rain every day.

The long weekend brings a work party to work on the Hub
at the same time as 172 Guests enjoy a retreat at Medeba.
What a busy weekend!

The cold temperatures keep away the bugs and the
rain is not turning out to be a significant factor.
Here the first roof truss is being hauled up.

Ken is setting the hurricane clips in place for the trusses.

The trusses are now all in place as Bruce begins
to nail down the strapping.

Steve and Ken haul up the first piece of steel roofing.

Ken and Andrew secure the roof in place.

Steve and Ken finish screwing down the roof. We are very
pleased to have the whole building now enclosed
which will continue to be worked on in the future.
